History

Loch Lomond became really famous thanks to a song called "The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond". After the fall of the Jacobite rebellion, led by Bonnie Prince Charlie; against the English occupation, a soldier was sent home to pass a message: all rebels would be captured and sentenced to death.

According to the legend, the soul of a dead Scottish person would go back to its home. The sould was meant to travel under the ground which means, following the lyrics: "I'll take the high road" - I'll take the road - and "you'll take the low road" - your soul will go through the ground - "And I'll be in Scotland before ye". It is believed that this song has been written by a Scottish soldier. It is now part of the Scottish culture, as well as part of the History.
